After clicking the Add or Edit buttons from the main Manage Databases tab, the Edit Alias Information dialog will be displayed.
Alias Name |
The database alias name representing the physical directory on the server PC. Alias names are case-insensitive. Therefore, MyData and MYDATA are treated as equal to client applications. All alias names must be unique. |
Driver (Default Index Format Used) |
This value is currently only used to identify the default Data Driver (or Table Type) for the server to use when creating new tables with the SQL CREATE TABLE command. Valid driver types are Clipper, FoxPro, or HiPer-SIx. |
Data Path |
The physical drive/path on the server PC where the data files are located for this database name alias. Ex: C:\Program Files\Apollo7\Data |
Browse Button |
Clicking this button will bring up a drive/directory browse dialog displaying the available drives and directories on the server PC. Double-click on the desired directory to select it. The selected path value will be displayed in the Data Path field (above). |
OK Button |
Saves the additions/changes to the user account entry and makes the new database alias available immediately to any client applications. |
Cancel Button |
Cancels any additions or edits that have not yet been saved. |
